The Feast of Tabernacles is a collection of teachings by Richard Mikelson.

These teachings explore spiritual depths of influential texts of scripture,  and of the human condition.

The Constitution

"He opened His mouth and began to teach them, saying, ‘Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.’” Matthew 5:2-12 NASB

The Sermon on the Mount is God’s King setting forth the proper precepts and lasting principles by which people can be so favored by and made to be happy by God. The Beatitudes hold the key thoughts of holy behavior, holding hope for qualification in having the life of God be within our being. They speak of the possibility of a very real CHANGE OF INNER CHARACTER that happens within our inner person. God is making us know of His role in making us becoming happy, loving, and alive, fulfilled with HIS LIFE GIVING SPIRIT working within our own spirit.

God is changing the soulish ideas of our minds because carnal ideas about Him keep people in a state of bondage. God certainly considers the correct portion of His substance to give us. He knows what is needed to deliver His people. We find He is writing His name within our inner being as we walk with Him through fiery trials and calm seas. This hidden union gives us hidden insights that are confirmed in the scripture.

Receiving the mind of His Spirit constitutes a conversation with Jesus. He is coming through repeating instructions again and again. We learn to “take no thought”, “be not anxious,” meaning not worrying, not fretting yourself,’ or as one brother said, “Save your nervous energy for an emergency!” Jesus is clearly coming by His Spirit, teaching us about the life He has. The King is free from being wrong and He is not worried. The King grants us freedom from anxiety, because the life we gain from following the King is free from fretting sorrows. Without this inner working, what heavy burdens are still contained within Christian brethren, for no gain, for naught!

We have high qualities of character developed within us even now. Our faith in sonship develops a relationship with God the Father. We are enabled to become sons who are pleasing Him as the firstborn. Becoming His Son means the Spirit of sonship has been sent so very close to our inner person, we are convinced of His ability to rule in the details of our lives. He has ability to subdue every fleshly problem, including the problems of the nations. He gives such deliverance that there is no fear in us, including no anxious concern about war. The devil’s opposition is removed from within our being as His Spirit points to the correct precepts and disposition. We are now molded by the great architect of the ages, the Son of God:

“You can not serve God and wealth. Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what you shall eat, or what you shall drink; nor yet for your body, what you shall put on. Is not life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: and yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall He not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or, ‘What shall we drink?’ or, ‘Wherewithal shall we be clothed?’ For after all these things do the Gentiles seek: for your heavenly Father knows that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.” Matthew 6:25-34

God’s spiritual laws are now written in our hearts. He adds rich understandings to enjoy. The nature of His name is a treasure of how He is —it is inscribed upon the tablets of our inner spiritual being. We are made alive andwe know His love is extended to us. We are experiencing great peace, real peace that enjoys living in God. As He mends the broken places of our heart, He comforts His deserted and destitute children. He mends heartbroken wives and husbands, heals bereaved mothers and fathers. Oh, the nature of God is able to convey Christ to our hearts and quicken us by His Spirit. Our spirit is lifted and our body is being changed as we are quickened.

Christ brings peace that is beyond bribery, bigotry, hatred and crime. No evil thoughts trouble disciplined sons because they know what God is intending to do! Our Father grants an inner knowing of His state, of the life like His firstborn Son, so we are completely redeemed. For us, a transformation has made the principles and attributes of God flow forth in unison within our being. It clearly agrees with the sermon Jesus articulated on the Mount.

Many preachers have thundered the letter of the word, the law from “Sinai’s mount,” laying down imposing penalties for disregarding their instructions. But preachers teaching others to keep the legal aspects of the Old and New Testament scriptures lack authoritative power in the Kingdom of heaven. The King is sufficient to reveal the way God is! How faithfully He works to show us what can be gained under new covenant principles, what spiritual freedom is gained by His liberating truth.

WE ARE MADE TO BE FREE FROM DEATH”S BONDAGES. Christ within us does reveal what is right and pleasing to our heavenly Father right now. Paul said not all things are helpful, expedient, profitable and wholesome. All things are permissible, however, if constructive and edifying to our spiritual life:

All things are legitimate — permissible, and we are free to do anything we please; but not all things are helpful, expedient, profitable and wholesome. All things are legitimate, but not all things are constructive to character and edifying to spiritual life.” I Corinthians 10:23 Amplified

We should know the major differences between profitable behavior, at least knowing the religious works that keep the dead religious laws working on us. We are not like followers of Moses, law keeping, knowing old things and not trusting God to work by His Spirit.

The precepts found in the sermon on the mount are written within our inner spiritual person so we become alive! The Spirit of Christ Jesus comes to teach, guide, and abide in us. The law of Moses said, “Thou shalt…and...thou shalt not!”, imposing a penalty if these instructions are disregarded. But the principles of a better covenant writes within people so they are made, “BLESSED. ”

THEY ARE HAPPY IN SPIRIT EVEN IF POOR, WHO morn, WHO are meek, hungering for what is right, while being merciful, clean in heart to make peace, so they endure all things. WE ARE WHAT the sermon on the mount instructs. We Christian brethren find this complete and revealing declaration of what constitutes God’s character to be the character that needs to be in us. He can ABIDE within our spirit, making us alive to the heavenly Kingdom of God even now.He eliminates efforts of law-keeping promoted under legalistic ministries of the dead letter of the word.

Ministries of most of Christendom have accepted in-part mixtures of myths, religious laws, and old traditional rules. These are certainly built on in-part understandings from the Old and New Testament books. God has delivered a people, however, who are following Him by divine inspiration. He places His own revelations of scriptures that reveal a contrasting difference between what the SPIRIT teaches and what men have included. It is seen in the dispensational differences of the candlestick churches compared to the city of God’s King. Such sispensational provisions keep guiding the multitudes into lower ranks of heaven. We know that in His house are many levels of abiding, so His people shall be delivered first. He is coming again to the people of God!

The mount thundering the law sounds in our life as Mt. Sinai, where awesome sights and sounds astound us. Those religious mountains we have inhabited become burning with God’s fiery word. Earthquakes (our earth) shake us at the presence of God’s blasting with trumpets long and loud. Above all what terrifying words are voiced as words which lack God’s Kingdom authority or conviction. The people shrink back in fright and beg that this “hard” word not be spoken to them any more.

So terrible was Sinai that Moses said, “I exceedingly fear and quake.” Yet that same lawgiver sat to teach the sermon on the mount in lowly human guise. He was beckoning people to mercy, forgiveness, to sit quietly down, to gather willingly at His feet to drink in His gracious words of inspiration. With tenderness and compassion, He still teaches us in our daily life what the saying means, “Blessed are they that...”

Jesus certainly assumed authority above and beyond that of Moses every time He declared, "Moses said…but I say unto you." The authority of His statements stands now in sharp contrast to the teachings of Moses of the old testament. The priests and leading rabbis relied upon the traditions of earlier generations. But Jesus spoke as no man before him as being God’s Son. His message is grounded in His own authority. Jesus repeatedly introduced His instruction by saying, “I say unto you!” “It has been said by them of old time [Moses and the prophets]...but I SAY UNTO YOU!”

Jesus was not an Old Testament prophet. Jesus is a PARTAKER OF GOD, as God's son. The sermon on the mount is correct and quality instruction for measuring the quality of our character. The spirit of sonship has separated a people, given them strength to become spiritual "virgins". They are outside of every religious camp, including the myriad church orders that separate His people with carnal minded thoughts. These are the seeds of religious minded beasts rather than the Holy seed of God.

There is a heavenly host wholly separated unto God’s truth. We are “virgin” territory for the planting of His higher thoughts, the true ones coming by His Spirit. Many sons leave the in-part church ministries in pursuit of a real sonship relationship with the Father. Those who receive the spirit of sonship adopt a vision that overcomes the candlestick church dealings. They are led of the Father as the heirs of God, living in the righteousness of God now because the wisdom of God’s Spirit teaches them constantly.

But Christ Jesus comes as a thief to the church world. He steals their half-baked goods in order to give them continual authority and power as true sons and daughters, sons possessed by the Father. God is a Father who instructs His Sons speaking truth. They speak truth WITHOUT GUILE to the rest of His people. “HE SAYS UNTO US” to live, we must walk in the light of His spiritual guidance, doing what the Spirit reveals to us.

Sons learn to discern what is constructive to their spiritual character, knowing within of the Spirit’s working and what is according to the King’s constitution. We learn what is constructive to having God’s abiding presence in our life, conformity to His likeness and to the constitutional principles that seal us into our rightful place in His Kingdom. We must take care to perceive the truths taught by his Spirit as received and applied to our personal behavior.

We are now walking after the principles of our Lord and Savior, the King, who teaches us so much more now. He shows us how to receive divine BLESSING, real favor, and heavenly fortune. Yet, if any person sows to the flesh, they shall “of the flesh reap corruption”. Soon there are blessings provided for anyone who grows spiritually to sow by following the instructions clearly taught by Jesus. “Blessed are they that...”

They are granted the “spirit of Life” in Christ Jesus to understand what constitutes the principles that are automatically blessed of the Father. Many are blessed to grow into a mature stature as qualified, sealed sons, having the main spiritual characteristics of the twelve tribes of Israel in chapter seven of the book of Revelation. They who rule and reign over earthly things reap great glory and heavenly wealth, gaining great enjoyment and favor in this life that benefits them as joint heirs with Jesus.

In the sermon on the mount, there are principles taught that quickens our spirit to understand. We see how these precepts apply within our own life’s experience as He daily applies truth to our inner person. This will set us free from former ways that have held us in bondage and death. We are freed from the religious efforts of church programs and the good works done in religious realms controlled by “giant” men who have ruled in our “land”.

The sermon on the mount is a collection of constitutional principles that God uses to progressively develop a HABITATION within our being. God has given this blueprint for our spiritual growth. An unction has been decreed for our FULL development as sons and daughters attaining productive Kingdom authority.
