The Feast of Tabernacles is a collection of teachings by Richard Mikelson.

These teachings explore spiritual depths of influential texts of scripture,  and of the human condition.

The Translator

The Greek New Testament word used for the word devil, is DIABOLLOS. DIABOLLOS it is a compound of two words — DIA and BOLLO. DIA means "a channel of an act" and BOLLO means "to throw — either with force, or without force, yet with a purpose, or even carelessly." Hence, the word devil means A CHANNEL SOMETHING PASSES THROUGH. Think of the pipe through which water enters your home as a channel — a means of passage.

Also, the frequency bands assigned to a single transmitting station for either radio or television are called a channel — the frequency of communication passing from the station to your receiver. Any channel is just a vehicle through which a thing passes from one location or state to another. So, the devil is a spirit that channels (DIA) to reach our CONSCIOUS MIND through certain carnal ideas, concepts, opinions, lodging worldly thoughts that inflame fleshly passions so as to miss the glory of God.

Strong's Analytical Concordance has rendered the compound word DIABOLLOS as "a traducer." The English word "traduce" means "TO TRANSFER FROM ONE ORDER OF REASONING TO ANOTHER ORDER OF REASONING, like as to translate from one language to another language." Hence, the “traducer”, the devil spirit, is a translator, an interpreter that sits enthroned in the earthly mind of men to place thoughts and attitudes that channel our way of thinking, judging, and KNOWING about the good and evil about us.

A form of KNOWLEDGE has been the crafty translator’s work within the reasoning mind of man. Some religious folk get puffed up with that knowledge. Jesus discovered this wily adversary coming with bible in hand, so to speak, saying "it is written." This adversary used the accepted scriptures for a master-stroke of deception.

"If Thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence; For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee;" Luke 4:9

"It is written" he suggested as he offered acclaim to Jesus at the pinnacle of the temple. Just bow to use the shrewd worldly wisdom the traducer outlined to His mind by which He could conquer the people of the Jewish empire. He offered an easy way to popularity and fame — the multitudes being amazed would follow Him if He would just cast Himself from the pinnacle of the temple.

For God had promised no harm would come to Him, angels would care for Him, a noteworthy truth found in scripture. What gave immeasurable force to the traducer's suggestions was the awful authority of God's Word. He offered the assumption of Divine approval. He presented his ideas in the sanction of the scriptures. It is with the scripture that he still roars about like a lion to devour with "It is written!"

How the traducer and his messengers love to come to open meetings to argue about the bible in their hand! The translator is no stranger to the Bible. That spirit uses the scripture to raise opposition when the Lord’s people gather in fellowship meetings. The traducer has such procedures that serve his purpose and religious men rarely discover that they are expressing the awful depth of the traducer's duplicity.

The translator influences Christian believers to use literal, earthly minded interpretations of scripture to channel earthly understandings in order to explain spiritual mysteries. The Spirit of truth informs us of this process as He gives us His viewpoint. Then we know the truth, know as He knows, free from all the lies. What Christ within us KNOWS is greater than what the devil of the world KNOWS.

The translator channels the letter of the word to form fleshly understandings of scripture. It forms a fleshly understanding of the thoughts of God. Holding to twisted, literalistic, and erroneous knowledge in men, the translator uses the letter of the word to kill. The letter of the word sown in the carnal mind of man create the lies of the dragon voice, the devil, allowing Satan to exercise deception even among the very elect. The mind of Christ, however, gives divinely inspired spiritual understanding of our Father's divine thought to our inner spirit. Paul thought so too:

"To be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace." Romans 8:6

It is plain to see that a crowning work of the translator is to put a natural, carnal, reasoned, twisted, or intellectual interpretation to the scripture. The translator takes the language and meaning of inspired scripture and translates it into a twisted dialect of fleshly wisdom and carnal understanding which holds us to a lesser image. The devil mind’s even accuses the saints of spiritualizing the Word of God. How, I ask, can you spiritualize away something that comes from spirit? Jesus once said;

"The spirit is that which is vivifying. The flesh is not benefiting anything. The declarations which I have spoken to you are spirit and are life." John 6:63 concordant

We see danger lies not in spiritualizing away the Word — it is, rather, in carnalizing away that which is SPIRITUAL! To lessen the thrust of truth, the spiritual essence of the Word is lowered down through the channels of manipulating carnal reasonings of men. Every Christian movement has formed organized religions from the moving of God’s Spirit. Ah, what a liar and deceiver, what special subtleties the serpent has worked on the churches of Christ for two thousand years! All the time he was quoting the scripture and rejoicing in how really sound and fundamentally right their viewpoints are.

There are devilish doctrines that dominate people in church. However contrary, these doctrines can be reasonably proven in scripture, and with religious methodology be deified, like a Babylonian garment which looks justified by appealing to the scriptures. All such have an, "it is written" to fall back on. It seems the damnedest lie can be made to appear as God’s truth. All Christian fellowships have scripture in their foundations. We are built on them, yet all the traducer needs to do is have us use our reasoning mind to misquote scripture to project a dirty heresy across that holds us to lesser heavens leavened with falsity and destined to be passing away.

"…our beloved brother Paul also writes to you, according to the wisdom given to him, as also in all the epistles, speaking in them concerning these things, in which are some things hard to apprehend, which the unlearned and unstable are twisting, as the rest of the scriptures also, to their own destruction." II Peter 3: 15-16 concordant

One skilled in the scripture can prove or disprove almost all points of view with scripture. Christian brethren have spent much time engaged in lengthy debates over many scriptural points of view, fighting over the letter of the word. Now the hour is too late, the time too short, the purposes of God too urgent to give ourselves and our precious time and energy to such wrangling of carnal disputations, no matter the forum.

This is not time to jot every doctrinal "i" and cross every creedal "t". There is truth that runs like threads of gold throughout the pages of Holy Writ, teaching us to receive an abiding presence of God’s indwelling Spirit in our inner spirit to free us from sin and death. Theology students can pour over musty volumes with studious souls, learning all the arguments and scriptural proof defining God, while God Himself remains spiritually unknown to them.

These practices have created ineffective and impotent offspring in their followers because they know only the outer form, the husk of the truth. They are standing on the letter, reciting the doctrine, articulating the facts, but not the vital spiritual relationship with God to live and learn as His son or daughter. Church scholars who know all the arguments and appear to have all the answers can yet be still a foreigner to the heart of God. However, when anyone begins to be quickened by His Spirit, wonderful changes take place in their hearts, new spiritual understanding is given, and “to know Him is to be like Him”.

"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord" II Corinthians 3: 18

His image has power to transform, to change, to heal, to awaken our consciousness to the abiding reality of His image. He quickens our inner spiritual being to a heavenly sphere where LOVE, PEACE, AND JOY dwells within the inhabitants.

“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” II Corinthians 4:3-4,6

From these verses we learn that the glorious gospel of Christ IS LIGHT. If this light is hid, or concealed, it is hid from those people because the god of this world has BLINDED THEIR MINDS, keeping them in the channel of worldly thinking, worldly wisdom, and worldly UNDERSTANDING. But if the light is shining within us,

“ (Godly) understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it” Proverb 16:22

Lack of godly understanding keeps men in darkness, alienating men from God's Life. Yet, godly understanding is welling up within us with strength to reveal God’s understanding, His viewpoint. This is what Paul wrote:

“Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men” I Corinthians 14:20

Paul prayed for the Ephesian brethren to this end:

"Therefore, I also, on hearing of this faith of yours in the Lord Jesus, and that for all the saints, do not cease giving thanks for you, making mention in my prayers that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may be giving you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the realization of Him, the eyes of your heart having been enlightened, for you to perceive what is the expectation of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of the enjoyment of His allotment among the saints,

and what the transcendent greatness of His power for us who are believing, in accord with the operation of the might of His strength, which is operative in the Christ, rousing Him from among the dead and seating Him at His right hand among the celestial, up over every sovereignty and authority and power and lordship, and every name that is named, not only in this eon, but also in that which is impending: and subjects all under His feet, and "gives Him", as Head over all, to the ecclesia which is His body, the complement of the One completing the all in all." Ephesians 1:18-23 concordant

And again,

“Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of God is…” Ephesians 5:17

To the Colossians Paul wrote:

“Therefore we also, from the day on which we hear, do not cease praying for you and requesting that you may be filled full with the realization of His will, in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, you to walk worthily of the Lord for all pleasing, bearing fruit in every good work, and growing in the realization of God; being endued with all power, in accord with the might of His glory, for all endurance and patience with joy;

at the same time giving thanks to the Father, Who makes you competent for a part of the allotment of the saints, in light, Who rescues us out of the jurisdiction of Darkness, and transports us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in Whom we are having the deliverance, the pardon of sins, Who is the Image of the invisible God, Firstborn of every creature, for in Him is all created, that in the heavens and that on the earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones, or lordships, or sovereignties, or authorities all is created through Him and for Him, and He is before all, and all has its cohesion in Him.” Colossians 1:9-14 concordant

Paul prayed that God would open the eyes of our understanding so that we might know what to expect of this calling, to know to what extent His riches and glorious ability will work within the saints. Ah, it is better to set at His feet and learn those answers, seeking spiritual insight while being seated in Christ, than to be busy chasing programs of church charities, and other “good works”.

Such are vainly presented by the religious church world as good works, but actually detract from and are a detriment to true devotion to God. Our Father in heaven beholds His children neglecting their spiritual opportunities while they diligently rush forward to attain worldly status in these old passing heavens. The translator has been busy dictating the agenda so long that most Christians have gotten used to being focused on temporal things.

Thank God we no longer have to walk in the vanity of that dark mind! We are separated to walk in a divine understanding given by His Spirit within our spirit, a living temple of the living God through faith. We can see, through understanding eyes, the things of man’s religion and tradition. We have been begotten to the life that holds lasting reward, knowing what rewards are available in the Godhead in the Kingdom of God.

"If, then, you were roused together with Christ, be seeking that which is above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Be disposed to that which is above, not to that on the earth, for you died, and your life is hid together with Christ in God. Whenever Christ, our Life, should be manifested, then, you also shall be manifested together with Him in glory." Colossians 3:1-4 concordant

“‘Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.” II Timothy 2:7

“…may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him: the eyes of your understanding being enlightened..." Ephesians 1:17-18

“‘In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzer; and the thing was true, but the time appointed was long: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision…” Daniel 10:1

Not only do we know a true vision, we are learning by experience that the time can be very long, but God helps us to RIGHTLY UNDERSTAND the vision HE imparts. A thing was revealed to Daniel. “Revealed is the Hebrew word, galah, meaning ‘to denude, uncover’. It implies a stripping away of all that might cause it to be held in obscurity, so that it stands clearly, plainly exposed before us. We have heard far too many presentations of ‘hazy, nebulous suppositions,’ which leave one guessing at what the speaker really means. When God reveals a thing, it is made bare, UNCOVERED so that we can clearly grasp its meaning. Jesus said to His disciples,

‘These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time comes, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall show you plainly of the Father.’” John 16:25

That is what Jesus now desires, to show us the Father. Dreams and parables need an explanation, for they hold hidden truths. We pray for a clear vision from a clear channel that reveals sufficient light to grasp the truth, moving with boldness. In confidence, we are following Jesus now and in the days ahead, firmly established because:

"He is coming with clouds, and every eye shall be seeing Him." Revelation 1:7 concordant

God is giving revelation that is SPIRITUAL. This is not to be confused with religious head knowledge, the translated interpretation from carnal channels, nor with the psychic aberrations which some people call revelation. God’s divine revelation does not spring out of the mind of man, but OUT OF HIS SPIRIT which quickens our SPIRIT with its sufficient work.

“Whom shall He teach knowledge? And whom shall He make to understand doctrine? Them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn (removed) from the breast.” Isaiah 28:9

Most Christians need to grow up, leave the milk of the word, leave babyland, to understand the “meaty” revelations God can give by Spirit until they too RIGHTLY DIVIDE the Word of Truth.

‘For every one that uses milk is unskillful in the Word of Righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongs to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.’ Hebrews 5:13-14

“Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the Lord understand all.” Proverbs 28:5

The Hebrew word for "understand" is ‘biyn’ meaning: to be able to separate mentally, distinguish, thus, TO RIGHTLY DIVIDE. When God enables us to UNDERSTAND THE VISION, we then know what’s RIGHT about His judgments!

“My feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped. I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me. Until I went into the sanctuary of God (got alone with God); then understood I their end." Psalm 73:2-3,16-17

Life viewed with the reasoning mind can be TOO PAINFUL. Many feel left out, are broken, afflicted, oppressed and abused. But when we quietly draw nigh unto God, in the sanctuary (separated place), HE helps us to understand His viewpoint.

Often church leaders have the right vision yet give council according to current worldly circumstances of the daily news. Denominations train men to fit into their established traditional beliefs, not to seek for further understanding given of God’s Spirit. The Christian masses are so unskillful in the scripture that they often misapply it by accepting diabolical translations of earthly minded thoughts as teachings actively mixed with misconceptions that lie.

Even myths passed down by tradition are accepted as normal reality among a majority of Christians. God imparts His teachings of truth into our spirit by His Spirit, to dispel false doctrines of rapture, the second coming, the antichrist, judgment and eternal hell, and much more. We need to escape the limitations of church doctrine to let the WORD OF GOD dwell in us richly until we are thoroughly processed thereby to have our UNDERSTANDING refined to be in harmony with HIS MIND.

Truly, the glorious fulfillment of wisdom and understanding that is given by the Spirit to each of us will surpasses our fondest dreams. God grants personal visions and understandings of our individual life, visions and understanding of what God shall do for His people, and vision and understanding for all men everywhere.

The dragon-voice, the traducer, speaks as loudly now as at any time in all history. If you do not belong to its organization or submit and bow down to this “two-horned beast” system that now dominates the lives of Christians, dead and living alike, you will find yourself more and more misunderstood, more and more ostracized, more and more cut off, called a fanatic, schismatic, a heretic, a lone ranger, a false prophet under the condemnation and judgment of God.

But many ministers in these systems have heeded the counsel of the Holy Spirit to “come out from among them and be separate and touch not the unclean thing”. Those who would come out are ignored, rejected, rebuked, denounced, anathematized, and unceremoniously excommunicated under the deafening roar of the dragon’s mouth!

If our basic understanding of “God” is that He is an angry Judge of every error, that impression, that channel, can discolor and influence our thought, our prayer life, and our faith, so that we have great difficulty SEEING HIM AS HE IS. How wonderfully He changes that when His Spirit teaches us to come to Him as our Father, repenting (changing our mind about Him) and trusting in His loving lessons. Then we cry out with an almost inexpressible joy that we love Him.

It is love, HIS LOVE, which works of what He is, flowing into our spirit . We no longer think of Him as a great force out there wanting to "get us" with great vengeful destruction, but rather we see Him clearly as our heavenly Father. There is NOT ONE passage of scripture in the whole Bible that indicates that the grace of God is limited to physical life or that the mercy of God’s deliverance is tied to one’s heartbeat.

We recognize that it is the spirit of man that is of the greatest importance to God. Why teach salvation is provided so long as the mortal body remains animate, but no salvation is available for the much more valuable spirit of that same man or woman as soon as the last mortal breath is drawn?

“It is appointed unto men once to die, and after this the judgment” Hebrews 9:27

That establishes the fact of judgment for all after death. It does not explain the process of His judgment, nor the duration of His judgment, the outcome of His judgment, or what may transpire during His judgments! There is neither time nor space in this writing to consider the depth of meaning in the words of this beautiful passage, but let me point out the passage is conspicuous for what it does not say! It does not say, “It is appointed unto men once to die, and afterward that ETERNAL DAMNATION in hellish circumstances awaits those not believing in Christ Jesus.” But that is how the dragon-voice states the case!

The false theories of eternal torment rests upon faulty translation of several Greek words, scriptures twisted and used by natural religious minds to form devilish distortions and perversions of Christian thought. So even today the churches of this world have agreed that God has the will and the power to save a believing church member, a mortally breathing man, but neither the will nor the power to save the soul and spirit of men that do not believe at a later date.

They hold to the belief that God has the will and the power to regenerate men which have a mortal body of dust, but no will nor power to regenerate the same man's soul and spirit apart from his corruptible body! They insist God’s mercy is limited to the temporal uncertainties of human live! Good heartbeat, good mercy. No heartbeat, no mercy! God has taken us away from all these lies!

God certainly will judge everyone and that will SAVE them, bring them, draw them to the age-lasting order of His mercy-seat. HE is working spiritually now, judging us, drawing us, interceding for us until we find our place in GOD!

"Now is the judging of this world. Now shall the Chief of this world be cast out. And I, if I should be exalted out of the earth, shall be drawing all to Myself." John 12:32 concordant
